Mikel Arteta given three-point transfer to-do list by Arsenal legend Ray Parlour

Mikel Arteta has been given a three-point to-do list by Arsenal legend Ray Parlour in the transfer window.

It comes as the Gunners look to splash the cash in the summer with several arrivals already on the way ahead of next season.

After a disastrous campaign, Arsenal are desperate to propel themselves towards the top of the Premier League.

Finishing eighth in the table has seen them fail to qualify for a European competition for the first time in 25 years.

And the signings of Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White, who is set to be confirmed soon, have been designed with the future in mind.

But Gunners legend Parlour does not believe it is enough and has told Arteta there is still work to be done.

The ex-England international has told the Arsenal coach that there are still three pieces of business to conduct.

He told talkSPORT : “I think they need another striker. I think they need another midfielder, alongside Partey.

“I think they need another player who’s mobile in there.

“And defensively you could argue that they need a right back, Bellerin is talked about that he could move on.”

Arsenal have been linked with a number of midfielders, despite the arrival of Lokonga.

Sassuolo star Manuel Locatelli remains a big target at the Emirates with a €40m offer being confirmed.

However, they must beat Juventus to the signing of the Italy international – who are yet to meet a similar bid to the Gunners.

Brighton’s Yves Bissouma is also on their shortlist while he has told his club that he wants to be allowed to speak to a bigger team.

The Mali international is reportedly an Arsenal fan and would love to move to the Emirates should he get the chance.

His agent is the same as Nicolas Pepe, who moved to north London for a club-record £72m in 2019.

As for right-backs, Norwich ace Max Aarons remains the top choice to replace Bellerin should he depart this summer.

Inter Milan are interested in the Spaniard to come in for Achraf Hakimi, who joined Paris Saint-Germain recently.

Meanwhile, there are still planned moves away for the likes of Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira.

Both are keen on leaving after being told by Arteta that they are not part of his plans, with Jose Mourinho looking to sign Xhaka for AS Roma this summer.
