Jake Paul tells Dana White to pay UFC champion Francis Ngannou “what he wants”

Jake Paul has demanded that Dana White pays UFC champion Francis Ngannou “what he wants” after the heavyweight said he was unhappy with his current contract.

Ngannou is earning around $500,000 for his world title fight with unbeaten interim champion Ciryl Gane, a fraction of what Paul earned for most of his boxing bouts as a relative beginner.

The YouTube star’s last disclosed fight purse was for his first bout with Tyron Woodley, where he was paid $2million for an eight-round bout against the debuting Woodley.

And Paul has become an advocate for fighter pay, previously telling White he would gladly retire from combat sports if the UFC would agree to increased purses, a fairer revenue split and healthcare for fighters.

He has now once again gone after White for his poor treatment of fighters, this time world heavyweight champion Ngannou.

“Give this man what he wants Dana,” Paul told the UFC boss in an angry tweet after Ngannou complained of his payment as champion.

Jake Paul has demanded that Dana White pay Francis Ngannou better

“Such a f***ed up company to be apart of… I got something coming soon.”

The project Paul is working on will likely involve MMA legend Antonio McKee, whose son is Bellator featherweight champion AJ.

McKee is the head trainer at Team Bodyshop in California, where Paul’s sparring partner Anthony Taylor trained to become a respected MMA fighter.

And speaking on The Mystic Hour podcast earlier this week, McKee said that he and Paul are working on a project that will benefit fighters.

“Unfortunately, I was treated really badly by the UFC after being undefeated for like eight years,” McKee said.

“I was on an eight-year run where I was treated real bad but I was very fortunate and blessed to meet a guy like Jake Paul.

“He’s saying and doing a lot of things that at first I thought was for the clout but then I realised was actually because he’s about the fighter.

“There’s something really big about to pop, I’m not going to say too much because I’m not supposed to but you’re going to hear something big in the next week and Jake Paul is one of the people who made it happen.”

Paul has previously been praised by Ngannou for his performance against Woodley in their December rematch, where he knocked out the former UFC welterweight champion in round six.

Ngannou said that Paul “put his money where his mouth is” when he landed a vicious right hand to earn his fourth career knockout.

“Honestly, I was impressed by Jake Paul, I didn’t see that coming,” Ngannou told TMZ.

“I was sure that Tyron Woodley was going to win this fight, you know? But you’ve got to give it to Jake Paul. He made a statement, a huge statement and he proved his money is where his mouth is.

“He’s taking himself very seriously. … You better take him seriously because he proved it.”
